Israel’s Tourism Ads Banned

Supervisory institutions in the UK advertising ban advertisements issued by the Tourism Authority of Israel for a photo of the western wall. They say the ad is misleading.

Advertising Standards Authority, ASA, said the ad implied that Israel occupied East Jerusalem since 1967 are part of the country.

Western Wall which is one of the places sacred to Judaism, located in East Jerusalem, that location is one location most of the main objectives of tourists who visit Israel.

Israel’s Tourism Ministry said it would be incorrect if the place is not included in the ad.

ASA said it had received a letter of complaint due to these ads. The ads appeared in a newspaper in England. (more…)
