5 Places to Dive in Fiji

Friday, February 17th, 2012
Fiji is a beautiful island in the South Pacific that has white sandy beaches, tropical settings, and lush greenery. It also happens to be a great place to scuba dive. It is the kind of paradise that many people only dream about with large coral reefs and many types of sea life and fish. In fact, the second largest barrier reef in the world is located in Fiji. There are many dive facilities and schools that can help travelers learn to dive or to better hone their skills. Fiji holidays that include diving are some of the best in the world.
The Somosomo Strait, accessed by Taveuni, is known for its rainbow colored diving experience. The Somosomo Strait is a spot of water located between the island of Taveuni and Vanua Levu. It has one of the world’s largest soft coral reefs as well as the well-known Rainbow Reef and Great White Wall. This is a gorgeous spot to see fascinating creatures such as reef sharks, manta sting-rays and other varieties of tropical fish.

The Bligh Water area is a part of the Koro Sea. Here divers can experience a large amount of tropical fish due to the movement of the waters. Due to this fact, the Bligh Water area is often a place where experienced divers prefer to go, as the currents can be slightly overwhelming for inexperienced divers. This diving spot can be experienced throughout the entire year, as the temperature of the water is warm enough to be comfortable year-round.

Viti Levu is located around the main island of Fiji. There are masses of beautiful soft coral to be explored in this area, as well as a shark feed dive at the well-known Shark Reef. Shark Reef is known for having bull and tiger sharks, so divers should be prepared for the possibility of running into one during their dive. This experience might seem scary for some, but adventurous travelers and divers enjoy the opportunity for real life swimming with sharks.

Beqa Lagoon is located off of the island of Beqa, which is approximately a fifteen or twenty minute boat ride from the main island of Fiji. The trip to the small island is well worth it, however, as the diving area boasts bommies and rock formations that can not be beat. This is a mecca for pelagic fish, which can be seen in many colors and varieties. This area covers part of the Barrier Reef, and the water is extremely clear, which makes it a good site for diving and exploring.

Kadavu is home to the Great Astrolabe Reef, which is one of the largest barrier reefs in the world. The coral is found in a rainbow of colors and the area also hosts manta rays, which is great fun for exploring during Fiji holidays. The drop-offs from the reef feature soft coral that include many passages for exploring. These reefs are in very good condition and offer divers the opportunity to see many types of underwater vegetation and tropical fish species. The reef helps keep the currents from being too strong, so this is a good spot for beginning and experienced divers alike.

City “Murmansk” built an age of Tsarist Russian empire was inaugurated on 4 October 1916. Murmansk name is taken from the word murmans term for those Russian Scandinavian descents. City “Murmansk” located in Kola Bay / Kola Peninsula, 12 km from the Barents Sea. The city is located not far from the North Pole and near the state border between Russia and Norway also Finland. Murmansk is a city in Russia the cold arctic region where the lowest temperature can reach minus 40s. Cold season Murmansk city will often have 24 hours in darkness, in summer the city will often enjoy 24 hours of bright sunshine.

City “Murmansk” is very beautiful especially in the summer because it has so many beautiful lakes and forests and their flora and fauna that are found only in the area-typical arctic regions. The main income population about 300 000 people is a fisherman because of its territory despite the cold super warm ocean currents flowing north Atlantic drift ocean currents so that the water is not frozen passable ships.

City “Murmansk” in the days of the Soviet Union is the city limits to foreigners because it is one of the Russian naval bases and is home to “Atomflot”; an ice crusher nuclear ship. Even now, it is banned indiscriminate shooting anyone, especially a photograph around its harbor and a few other places; this can make you have to deal with the military.

Bibliotheca Alexandrina

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

Exploring along the coast past the Stanley bridge, al-Saraya, and finally stopped in the area before el-Mansyiah, precisely in front of three white pillar that is almost like a toothpick (the word some friends). Wonderful building stands firmly in front of us: Bibliotheca Alexandrina. I say wonderful building because the architecture of the building is worthy of thumbs up.

We do not simply buy a ticket and enter, but fell down the stairs near the ball-shaped building. .. if we just knew that ball was a planetarium, because the plan today is not to the planetarium, then we pass it and directly browse the existing road next. (more…)

Istanbul, City of Two Continents

Sunday, December 5th, 2010

This city of Istanbul is unique, standing on two continental plates, the continent of Asia and Continental Europe, separated by the Bosphorus Strait. Two continental plates are connected by a long and majestic bridges, namely the Bosphorus Bridge. This city has a rich history of many centuries ago, among others, the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Yerebatan Sarnici, Topkapi Palace, Dolmabahce Palace, Misir Carsisi and Kapali Carsi.

Transport in the city is very adequate. We can go to various tourist sites only armed with a map. Because style style minimalist backpacker with the money (hehehe J), here I always use public transport such as trams (Turkish: tramvay), metro, and the subway (underground train). There is also a large green bus that reads IETT, but I’ve never tried it. Naik tramvay also been quite comfortable and fast. (more…)
